If these people even so far as to get their feelings hurt they will start a smear campaign to get whoever they hate fired, canceled, and publicly shamed... yet they go about their day being rude towards people of ethic backgrounds they hate with immunity, while they themselves expect respectful treatment and professionalism. I'm not a Trump supporter but I guess a silver lining for if he wins is that DEI will hopefully become even more exposed and diminished
You don’t think you’re being openly hostile to people from other ethnicities by calling them DEI employees?
So you agree DEI is a bad word
It’s only a bad word when people use it in place of the slurs they actually intend to say. Just say what you mean with your chest
my understanding is that current employment law makes it illegal to take race, gender and religion into account when making an employment decision. Wouldnt that make DEI illegal?
It’s illegal to discriminate based on that. But affirmative action isn’t discrimination
Affirmative action based on race is illegal though. You can't discriminate because they are black. You can if they are underprivileged. Big difference. Race, gender are all protected classes.
DEI is for people who are losers in life and need hand-outs to compete with the average market.
This is a wrong take. A kid coming from Compton's and applying for Berkeley obviously has lot more to catch up than someone living in high end LA private school for Berkeley. The problem is that instead of fixing the problem (provide resources, mentorship, great examples to model) we instead spend time to fix the outcome. People need the same opportunities. There are enough kids in Compton who would do well with the right resources. Today's dei is extremely paternalistic and racist. Instead of teaching them to fish, we give them fish, make them lose confidence they can fish themselves and create circumstances where others think they can't fish. All of this only to make one feel good, with no real intent to actually help people.
I agree with what you are saying @bravo1. And it doesnt necessarily have to do with race. A white kid who grew up in foster homes, or even was just raised by a single mom who worked odd jobs may be less "privileged" than Shaquille Oniel's kids or Malia and Sasha Obama or Ben Carson's child. Its not about race necessarily
WTF is a DEI employee OP? Someone that works in the DEI department?
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. DEI for short.
And what does that mean here, IEHP?
Diversity is #OurStrength ™️. BEND OVER AND LET US RESUME THE CULTURAL ENRICHMENT.
GO WOKE GO BROKE
Interesting. Tech companies are woke AF and far from broke.
Lots of em do go broke
White supremacy and DEI are two sides of the same coin except dei is winning hands down.
Funny how you assume to know who was hired because of DEI vs their own merits but you don’t understand why they might be hostile to you.
I think OP means the hostile reason is purely race. Which can be valid since I've seen some people on blind being hostile towards white/male and blame them base on purely bias.
Describe the hostility you encountered
