I really like and respect the company and people. I feel bad if I quit and don't want to ruin the relationship in case I apply again. But thinking in their perspective, I think they'd understand that the job is a numbers game to me and I want to make more money ... Can't really blame me huh? Blind, give be validation.
Agree with the comment above. It’ll burn a bridge but that company would also lay you off in a heart beat if they needed to. TBH though at the BDR stage, I’d give up $5-10k if it meant a better company with a path to AE.
They will be mad, but you should remind them it's just business and tell them to fuck off. They will do the same to you.
It obviously depends, but I wouldn't recommend it. If the salary gap is huge, sure. But a BDR job is usually just a 1-2 year gig before you get promoted to an AE. A 5-10k pay gap just isn't that significant at that stage of your career. It's more important to find a product that is easy to sell, to find a company with a positive work culture. and with chill, unselfish, people.
You’d be completely screwing over the manager and costing them a bunch of money in the process. They’d have to start the recruiting effort all over again and it would probably f up their targets for the quarter/year. It would be a reputation killer and they’d never even give you a chance to interview again.
Nope. You are wrong. They will be mad. Doesn't mean that you can't / shouldn't do it, but don't live under the fantasy that it won't burn a bridge.
