40 yo. Need to fix my teeth so getting Invisalign soon. Looks like they are removable but need to be worn 22 hrs a day only removing for meals, 2 hrs a day. Is it even possible? Sometimes dinner alone is 2 hrs. Anyone used Invisalign as an adult? What was your experience?
I thought only water is allowed while you are wearing them. I sip on my morning coffee till idk... Noon Is black coffee ok?
Even after the treatment you have to wear the retainers. If you don’t, your teeth will start moving again. Not worth tbh if you need a minor correction
Got them when I was 27, need some discipline to wear them but you get used to it, fast fwd to today I’m 40 and it’s still held good with sporadic retainer usage, so go ahead and bite the bullet..good luck
Thanks! Was it hard to complete the treatment to begin with?
Not hard at all, definitely worth it. In no time you’ll forget you’re wearing them. But definitely you need to be diligent about wearing your retainer after or you’ll be like me, who is looking to start over again.
That’s very normal once you are used to it.
I take mine out for like 4-5 hours some days and I haven’t had any issues lol. I would just try to wear them 24/7 on days when you can to make up for long dinners
Are you able to switch to new retainer on schedule? I think it's every 7 days
Yep I’ve never gotten behind. I think teenagers that take them out a ton are the ones that usually fall behind (or really lazy adults lol). It is annoying and I can’t wait to be done, but I’m so happy with my teeth and wearing a retainer forever doesn’t really matter to me since I grind my teeth anyway
I did it after 40 and I am happy woth the result!
As close to 20-22 hours is need for the majority of the time. I have about 2 months left. It will be about 10 months total.
I did mine and it works, you can have the retainer less time, also it helps you lose weight ..
Did it in 30s, completely worth it. Do it and don’t look back
You'll have to wear the retainers for rest of your life.
Only at night, right?
Yeah. And 20-22 hrs is doable. Depending on how aggressive your change schedule is.
