I cannot fathom even visiting the country whose folks ruled and looted our country. Put our country in a state of perennially border issues. Created artificial famines 😢 My friends staying in UK ask me to come over but it’s hard to tell them about my feelings about the place they made their home.
Some older generation of Chinese ppl also feel the same toward Japan. Understandable
Rest assured, through history, nobody treats Indians worse than OTHER INDIANS.
^this India as a single political entity that we know today is pretty new (compared to the timeline of humans living in the subcontinent). Throughout its history, there have been brutal wars amongst the different regions when they were nation states themselves.
Always be beware of the Brown sepoys. They were the reason for the downfall of Indian civilisation.
Our parents used to narrate motivating stories about our leaders like Gandhi Nehru Patel Shastri Tilak And now just imagine you narrating stories about the present one to your kids? Hindu - Muslim Hindu - Muslim Hindu - Muslim Hindu - Muslim Hindu - Muslim
What about the ~35 million or so Christians in India? Are they mostly a political non-entity? Are they left mostly alone or are Hindus and/ or Muslims antagonistic toward them?
The only one hearing motivating stories about Nehru is his clan. He and Indira make Modi look docile.
If it makes you feel better, none of the people alive now did that and they inherited history the same as you did.
And if anything, people like OP can go there and show how better off and cultured they are and Indians can be
They suck, but you must get over it
I cringed reading this
Why
I was going to elaborate but then I ended up reading your responses down below. India as a nation never existed before British. British established borders, rules, laws and infrastructure. Without British, Indian history and culture would have been wiped out by the Mughal Empire by 1947. India would have been a failed state just like Pakistan. While Indian kings were busy fighting among themselves, Mughals were united and expanding in North and South of India. I wish the British had come sooner and stayed until 1980s. British got Industrial revolution to India. No Indian empire was remotely capable building steam powered machines and locomotives to ease life. On a personal note, you seem young and living in a bubble. you need to get down off your pretentious high horse once in a while. cheers
I also feel the same way exactly
Similar thing going now. Hindi being forced upon rest of us if doing any central govt work or trains. I hate visiting Hindi speaking states for trying to forcing their things on us. Including actors like Ajay Devgan
But there was no India before British. There was rajput land and sikh land and maratha land and mughal land. You would be serving a king and his subs. There was no concept of unity. No concept of having a say in the real world for common person. Atleast British defined what india is. How else do you think north east and south india would be in a single country? History is history. You are dumb to judge it in today's context. It's just false nationalism that makes you believe that somehow as a commoner you would be better off 200 or 800 years back. The bharatvarsha they talk about wasn't really great for majority of population
I take history as it is and won’t speculate- British didn’t come to India to define India, they came to India to loot make profit through oppression, division. Not that they had fair labor laws not they had any intention of citizen welfare. They purely were India to exploit and exploit they did. Land of slaves, snake charmers - f*** them India would have been whatever but a British colony for years. I am not dumb like you thinking British rule was good for India.
You are mendak
