I've seen more trucks carrying nothing

Than trucks being used for carrying things Weird. Its like carrying an empty ruck sack around everywhere you go.

Once you are high on antidepressants after watching CNN smash your 2-sitter into that F-450, guess who will be dead?

Ford and other american car companies really managed to trick americans into thinking that a truck is the best vehicle even if you have no use fornit Tens of thousands of people are buying trucks every year. Easy money

Capital One desuWzRite OP May 5

Plus it's different regulations for trucks too I believe. CAFE and chicken tax and all that.

I don't see suvs off-roading. All bmw lexus are suvs driven by 1 person most of the time. They are no different than driving useless trucks. But city folks like to shit on trucks as its rural/ Republican thing which most pf people in their circle don't drive. Most of the cars on road are unnecessary in size and have bigger engines except entry level sedans and minivan.

why have a car that seats X amount of people if X amount of people arent there 99.9% of the time? Because that one time you need to, you're glad you can. Just like a truck

Capital One desuWzRite OP May 5

Agreed. Compact cars are best for majority of people and take up way less space. Oh you edited. If I need extra you can just rent a car or truck it's pretty easy.

I wasnt agreeing with you. See edit.

Do you have a 1-car seat for when you drive around alone?

Makes sense. Following the same logic, let me buy a semi trailer truck in case I would need it one day

Most of things in America are nice to have but not required. This is developed country with ample amount of disposable money so people buy unnecessary toys. Its not just with trucks. Big houses, lawns, food waste, size of television, wedding πŸ’, vacation. Basically everything is unnecessary and waste of money. Do you have problem with trucks only or with every other unnecessary thing in America?

Capital One desuWzRite OP May 6

I tie a lot of problems in America to car dependent culture. Social isolation, pollution, debt, ecosystem destruction, obesity. Always comes back to suburbs and paving over everything for cars. For this though, trucks are just overly massive and because people don't use them for mainly carrying things they take up way more space than is reasonable and they increase liklihood of death in crashes.

Seems like you like walkable cities. You can solve the issue for yourself by moving to one like Singapore. Living in apartment is very cramped up. It has its own problems like low birthrate. Check out living conditions in south korea and japan which are developed countries with walkable living arrangements. They have depression, poverty, lay-down trend, traffic jams, women harassment in trains etc. What you think people should do with the extra disposable income they get after working for 8 hours?

I leave home with nothing in my truck, I return home with the truck filled with material. Conversely I leave home with my truck filled with trash and return from the dump with nothing in the truck. So, half the time the truck is empty.
