Referred quite a lot of people to help them during their tough times, but none got picked. Anyone any luck? Tc:240k
That’s good to know. I was referred for 4 roles, definitely qualified and not even an email from a recruiter. Person that referred me was high up as well. Like damn do they have a “no meta” filter? Oh well I guess it’s not in the cards
I had a referral and then hired but when I gave referral to others just a few of them got interviews and none of them hired.
Wdym, did you get an interview? IMO, referral only helps you get an interview instead of being completely ignored. Doesn’t really help with getting the job beyond being considered
That is right, if you do not do well in the interview then you would not have any chance to get hired but if there are multiple candidates that are good enough then the hiring committee may decide to give the offer to the one with the referral. Most people I gave referral even the ones with high levels in other big tech did not get interviews for some reason so I am also wondering how this candidate selection works.
Me and my colleagues referred quite a lot of people for many roles but never got an interview.
Got referred to several msft roles I thought I was a good fit for. Never got any of those interviews. Then, on a whim, I decided to blindly apply to some msft role on linkedin without any leads. Ended up getting the offer for that one even though on paper I didn't have the skillset they wanted lol. Moral of the story is referrals might be worse than just applying yourself
Recently i was referred by multiple people, no responses. The only call i got from a HM was for a position i applied without referral. HM said he wanted to do a loop, i haven’t heard back - been more than 3 weeks. Its tough out there
💯 True. Proved yet again. Multiple times by multiple folks.
