Moving from Canada to US
Couple with two kids, both in tech Vancouver, mortgage and comfortable lifestyle. Is still worth to move to US (Seattle) or anywhere? Anyone that made the move could give me the honest opinion. We’re not Indians. TC: combined 360k
Yes. Your pay will double and you will have more career opportunities in US. Since you’re not Indian you’ll be green card in a few years too. Win win win .
probably not if your already well situated with a mortgage and kids
With 360k in Canada you're in the top 1% households in Vancouver.
If all your kids are in kindergarten or later, it's definitely worth it. Otherwise the cost of day care or preschools will eat all the extra comp you'll get. Send me a message if you have questions. I made similar move .
Why not? It will be a great experience and if you don't like it in the US, you can always move back to Canada.
