Trying to get into the tech industry. Had only one interview and made it to the technical activity in XML but before I could do it, they picked another candidate. Could use the help. Please roast away. #jobs #resume #resumereview
Lack of side projects w proof. Need course # or specifics about the program itself
A good friend of mine who’s a 20+ Software Engineer told me I don’t add projects to my resume unless they are actually a contribution. Shall I pivot and add some anyway? Also thank you about adjusting my education info as well
I agree with this. Your friend has 20+ years of experience so they have something to show for. It doesn’t seem like you do based on your resume. So personal projects will be important. If you can, also get more technical experience—volunteer for non-profit/local org software needs, hackathons, open source projects, etc. Good luck!
When I see “skills” up top, I smell a loser, eagerness and desperation and just mediocre…
Bro this is very harsh why don’t you help him
I just did.
No skills first, accomplishment and impact first. I. E. Saved X millions of $, revenue of Y or improved by Z. You can't nt have a generic resume these days. Must be customized for each job you are applying to. Match the requirements. But honestly this is not a resume I would pick. Start with a tech department in a bank or similar, get results and than move.
That makes sense
Office Manager title sounds like you were an Administrative Assistant.
What jobs are you applying for? If it’s for SWE, there’s a 0% chance this resume would get you a job.
Were to believe you went from therapy to a lead it manager? Smells like a load of inflated titles and BS
So the office manager is just cleaning person?
More like a homemaker
Rooting for you
