Getting ready to send my kid to elementary school this year. We are in Willow Glen so public school is only 5. One option is to send to Rocketship charter school. Anyone has experience with Alma Academy, Mateo Sheedy or Rising Stars elementary schools? Thanks! TC 450
I heard Rockership schools are bad. Campbell charter schools are supposed to be good
Which ones? I only see forest hill and marshall lane elementary, both seem like you have to be living within the district.
It’s kindergarten. Just enroll and see how it goes. A 5 is not terrible like another poster said. My kid went to a 6 for kindergarten and I thought it was very good compared to where I went to elementary back in the day
Lol... Way to set a low bar
Haha. Kindergarten is mostly about learning structure and socialization. You can work with them on more advanced things at home if you think the public curriculum isn’t good enough. The biggest concern at low scoring school in elementary would be poorly socialized monsters in class but you’re probably ok in San Jose.
Don't do it. Send them to a private school. Or stick with public, 5 is not too bad. Rocketship school will have your kid change schools every so often.
What do you mean by "Rocketship school will have your kid change schools every so often"? Kids do not tolerate them well? Alma Academy is 7 and Rising Starts is 9 on great schools, much better than 5 but I just do not know much about charter schools. Kid is regular so far, somewhat above average intelligence, inclined towards arts compared to peers, very mellow tempered.
Yes, considering sending to private
