How is Twilio these days? Expecting offer.
Recently finished my virtual on-site for an L3 SWE position, and I'm expecting an offer. Could current and former employees please chime in on how life's like there? And what's the overall feeling these days? I've been seeing conflicting reviews online, so I wanted to get some clarity. Very sad environment in general. There is continuous fear of layoffs and they do happen. I was recently let go and I have to deal with 3 round of layoffs in 1 year and got impacted in 4th. Not sure if it’s worth it to go there as comma business is pretty much maintainer work and segment is where good work can but the uncertainty there is nerve wrecking and if things don’t work out there more layoffs will happen

Run you are doing a career suicide joining this place. Most folks are chilling, and the ones who aren't are going to end up in a mental / trauma care soon. If you are director plus twilio is the place to be 0 consequences, you can fuck up as much while you are getting paid millions.
I wouldn’t expect much of a bump over what you’re currently making, unless maybe you’re in the Bay Area
Not in the Bay, but I should've clarified I'm not doing it for the TC. I'm not feeling confident about Dropbox after our latest earnings, and another round of layoffs feels inevitable rn. We've also been hit with so many re-orgs and I've been so overworked that I'm working most weekends lol. Was expecting a promo to IC3 this year, but recently found out that ain't happening. So I'm doing it more for a fresh start and the level bump. The market is pretty terrible rn though, so I don't have too many other options. I thought 6 YoE would be ok, but boy was I wrong.
Twilio isn't different from what you've described. I'd still keep on interviewing.
