found this on disclosure of a house: roof plane was found to be sagging adjacent to the ridge suggesting a framing issue. suggested to further evaluate attic framing they mentioned this as a general statement in home inspection report roof inspector couldnt give more details and asked us to contact structural engineer any idea how much this could cost? its a 1500 sqft house
So many variables. $1-1,000,000. Probably 20-50k
Snow or no snow? What type of a roof is it? Clay / flat / shingle? Are there solar panels installed near the sagging? Is there a chance of termites? Add more details. You can also go to the attic, click pictures, and post on Reddit. Simplest fix would be possibly sister the joints. Else looking at around $50k fix. Also if there is really a framing issue then you may see plumbing leaks or other fixes. Really depends on the severity.
could cost $20k - $200k as the report says, needs evaluation from a structural engineer. the roof inspection is just literally the surface materials on top of the roof, not the framing. that’s why you need an engineer to evaluate it. $1000 for the inspection
25k roughly
