Well Define modern… If you mean that the built environment on average was built more recently then duh… Of course, the big urbanization of the USA happened way earlier. The US also tries to preserve old neighborhoods more. Unlike with the Middle Kingdom’s earlier mishaps. The historical buildings in the previously most populated country in the world are way older… Less modern.
