What's the most significant challenge you've faced as a woman in the tech industry, and how did you overcome it (or are you still working on it)? Let's share our stories and strategies to support each other! #womenintech #women
The mansplaining in condescending tone really bothers me. I try not to show that it bothers me but I lose my respect for that person.
I'd so relate to it ! But I feel if its happening repeatedly with the same person, then for once you need to show them their place. Perhaps initially by being polite "Thankyou xyz for explaining on my behalf". Maybe a stricter way the second time, "Thank-you xyz, I think I can explain myself" And then right on the face, "Thankyou xyz for mansplaining this.... " The problem is, most of the folks are so conditioned to do this that they are not even aware that they are doing this to others. And unless we let them know, they won't even understand. And the irony is, THIS hardwork also needs to be done by US, the victims ! Alas :/
Omg! Here as well? 🤦🏻♂️
No place for haters

getting a full time role and negotiating for six figures
I was backstubbed by a project manager who didn't know how to manage projects but was a pet of the lab director. He couldn't explain why the project was delayed due to lack of knowledge, but didn't want to blame the cranky old white man so he picked me to blame.
So were you able to retaliate or defended yourself in some way ?
When all the leaders are men and they have stay at home partners that take care of their kids full time and they just don’t understand that you can’t meet them at 5 because you have your pick up the kids…
Ditto observation! I think managers with working spouses are far more understanding and empathetic towards people than the ones with stay-at-home spouses!
Unconscious Biasness! I choose to speak about it and confront with empathy when it happens!
