Hey VPs and Directors, start working for 300K TC and donate all your FAT savings and investments. When you do that, let us know how it feels like working in a world of hyperinflation. TC: 490K in HCOL in Engineering (none of it is a paper money) YOE: 10 Not at Expedia. Some other public company.
This is so BS. Just increase Pay and people will form a line
I hope you still have Expedia shares, I’m kicking myself for not investing earlier
I'm not selling.
The thing is that people need to understand that only a few companies offer compensation in the 300K+ range. I’ve been approached by many recruiters who see my title as Manager in LinkedIn. They want me to go to a small/medium company as VP but with 400K as compensation. Last year, I got this “hire” for a Lowe’s home improvement GM/VP position in Seattle with 400K TC. When I cited to the recruiter that I was making already 600K+ his question was only: “Then why you don’t have a higher title?” Since titles don’t pay bills or accumulate interest, I prefer to keep making more money and resisting the LinkedIn tendency of putting fancy headers like “Head of something”.
Expedia pays 490k? Very nice Good luck OP. I had a startup offer me a staff role for 400k, 200k paper money. Times are rough
Not at Expedia. And I cannot share where I am working. Easy to identify.
