Ye. He is one of the most successful businessmen of our generation and will go down the history books as one of the richest ever. Tesla has been instrumental in paving a way for mass adoption of EVs. SpaceX is doing some interesting work, and starling is a useful technology. Now that we set that aside, we need to acknowledge that the dude is a psychopathic liar prone towards kooky conspiracies and has a penchance for schadenfreude and has been plenty more wrong than right in recent years. His businesses (barring SpaceX... revenues unknown) are not doing well at all and are in downward spiral. Even worse, he is just a bad person. Having relationships with interns, employees, friend's wives etc etc. WSJ published this : https://www.wsj.com/business/elon-musk-spacex-employee-relationships-8bca2806
drugs cooked his brain
It's really that simple
Looking at his physique - there is nothing healthy about him
He’s an idiot
US has 300,000,000 people. And yet only one person gave Ukraine the Internet access when Russia invaded and destroyed Ukrainian communications. Without communication, the Ukrainian army would have been in much worse shape right now. He did it on his own. Despite retaliation. Despite constant hacking and DDoses. Despite putin's anti-satellite weapons. Despite constant ridicule and hate. Yes, Elon was driven crazy. COVID times made so many people mentally ill. And I know that hating people with mental illnesses is a US national sport, especially in progressive circles. And yet, to this day all the active Elon haters (many of whom hate Elon more than serial murderers) even combined together, did not have the balls to do even half of the good things that Elon did. Still not as good as one crazied guy.
I care: Make great affordable Teslas and bump $TSLA Otherwise, none of my business
The Model Y was the world's best selling car in 2023, beating out the Toyota Camry and selling 1.2 million vehicles. Elon Musk is a hero for America that should be celebrated.
sounds like he should run for President. he meets many of the current qualifications.
He absolutely would if he could
no real candidate would be limited by something as mundane as the Constitution. that's what lawyers & $ are for.
I think it's important for people to realize that it's never great to worship a single person. Elon's a great example: He's clearly extremely motivated and driven. He takes on challenges no one else dared and has succeeded several times thanks to his long-term commitment. Tesla was, and SpaceX still is, absolutely unqiue companies. But he can also be childish, flippant, arrogant and immature. His escapades with X/Twitter undermined his image. His values and attitudes towards certain political issues are "questionable", as his his treatment of employees. But it's not that different to people like Steve Jobs. Being highly driven and successful just doesn't correlate with being a modest and humble individual. And we just have to accept him as a package deal.
This is one of the most mature and well-articulated takes on Elon I've read on Blind. I'm surprised by the intensity and immaturity of the Elon cults - both that worship him and disdain him.
Damn. How do I get his attention?? Mid level position, starlink product dev, based in Hawthorne and bastrop
