Can't believe I am making this post. Expedia Principle : 270K TC Plaid E4 : 340K TC Expedia is not downleveing me, but Plaid is down leveling me for good pay. YOE: 9 #swe #engineer #plaid #expedia
How was the interview? Is it remote role?
I would consider the Plaid shares at roughly 50% what value they were offered at, and factor in liquidity of Expedia stock compared to Plaid’s eventual, potential IPO
thanks
It's likely not even that. But e4 is a huge downlevel from principal. E4 is mid level here e5 is like low senior.
At 270K TC for principal level, now you know how weak Expedia is wrt leveling and top level competence. Why not take the E4 with the right compensation, and utilize the opportunity to learn from real principals there ? Np point in going for inflated titles . Career growth killer
Seems like a low principal offer, you must be missing something. There is typically a 30% sign on, plus a high base, plus 40-50k stocks a year over 4 with a 1 year cliff. Typical year one TC should be around 350, year 2 will be 35-360k
There is a lot of chatter on the internal Blind about layoffs. Be careful!
Every company has those. Whether they are reputable sources is another thing.
Keep on interviewing buddy both the offers sucks... people vouching for eg or plaid know the reality..
Plaid is miles better
both down-leveled..
What role is it frontend, backend, ML? Seems too low for Expedia.
what is low? fullstack
you are right, I didn't factor bonus
