Hi blinder, I recently got a Level K Product Manager offer at Expedia. This role will require me moving to Seattle. Remote is my first choice as I’ve been remotely working for the last 2 years. Wondering how this offer stacks up with expectations. Location: Seattle Level: K Yoe: 3 as a PM, 5 total Base: 140k RSU: 17k Relocation: 12k Any room to negotiate higher? #expediagroup #expediagroupsalary #expediasalary #pmsalary #productmanagersalary #offers #offer #offerevaluation
The high end for PM 2 was 155K when I interviewed last year and that was for Austin. My guess is it should be slightly higher for Seattle. Also there’s no annual bonus cause it’s factored into the base, so keep that in mind.
Thanks, did you take it? How much in RSUs were you offered?
No I didn’t get the offer. Recruiter shared compensation with me. RSUs was same as yours
No joining bonus?
Nope!
You can negotiate a lot. That almost looks like a new grad offer
What would you counter with?
160 or 170 base. Your stock compensation is very less. Ask for 40k so they will give you 30k at least.
IMHO the offer is fair as per EG K level standards for PM. If you have competing offers, might push a bit for base (~145ish) and a bit for RSUs (~25k); but honestly not much room. Also, ask why can't they offer you PM 3? I've seen folks with overall 10months of experience joining as PM 3 in my adjacent team(s) and that pisses me off -___- You've 5 overall YOE, you certainly fit for PM 3!
Thanks for the advice. I originally asked for 150-160 base and was told 140k would be the most they can offer. Not sure why they offered 2 and not 3, the job posting is for pm3. From the posting: “5+ years of related professional experience” Do you think they offered pm 2 because of the interview or because of my lack of 5 yoe as a PM. Do you think I can try to negotiate pm3 if I had other offers?
You can even negotiate for PM 3 now .. the JD said PM 3, why settle for PM 2
Feels low for 3/5 yoe Unfamiliar with Expedia pay scale but I’d have asked for $50k worth rsu and 150k base especially when there’s no annual bonus. You can stretch relo to 20k as well
What is level K
I believe PM II
The equity looks very low for a non entry PM role. Not sure if that's standard for Expedia but that's where I would negotiate
