Do you check all of the following? 1. Happy married life 2. 2 or more kids 3. Own a sfh with > 2500 sq ft 4. Commute to work < 20 min/ fully remote for both you and your spouse 5. NW > 3MM 6. Eat home cooked food & broadly healthy 7. Spend atleast 180 minutes/week exercising Edit: I am 30 yo getting married soon. I hardly check any of the above points but they are the guiding stars for me and my fiancee over the next 5-7 years. We can shoot for all but we may have to move out of the Bay Area since 2,3 and 4 are important to us. In most cases, Bay Area only gives you the option to pick one between 3 & 4. We are okay waiting on 5 for a bit longer. Edit 2: The comment section is triggered. Maybe this forces to look broader and realize even if someone is rich in TC and NW, they may not be living a rich life.
What kinda 80's bs spec sheet is this? I check only 1 of them and I can be sure I will not have 2 kids .
You sound very boring
That net worth is something to achieve in your 60s. And no one gives a shit how big your house is bro
Not married No kids Rent apartment Commute around 20 mins one way 3x per week NW < 1M Healthy 👍 Exercise more than 180 mins 👍 Edited to say- I’m very happy with my life 🙂
You obviously aren’t happy if you’re posting here
I keep seeing people putting their NW and salaries on Blind. I am not against it, but I feel the measure of success is based on the joy you feel at the end of each day, and it isn't wholly tied to your job.
34 yo here - Happy married life Yes - 2 or more kids Yes - Own a sfh with > 2500 sq ft No - Commute to work < 20 min/ fully remote for both you and your spouse Yes - NW > 3MM No: 300k - Eat home cooked food & broadly healthy Yes - Spend atleast 180 minutes/week exercising Yes 1h per day We only moved to the US end of last year so I guess it is ok for me to be super low in NW and to not own a house (also real estate owning price makes no sense at the moment) from my first 8 months here i should be able to save 150k per year so its just a matter of time and compound interests to reach the other goals (3M may take super long though especially with a big house down payment at some point)
Exactly in the same boat as you with exactly the same numbers
If you’re looking for points, good luck. It’s not how I want to live my life. For some people: Marriage is ideal, others are better off alone. 2+ kids is bliss, for others it’s madness. Some want a huge house, others see it as more space to keep clean. Some enjoy a drive and space between home/work, others just want to be quickly between the two. Some work themselves to the bone for stupid income levels only to wonder how to enjoy life, others get by on seemingly unsurvivable numbers and are filled with joy. I could go on, but seriously, in my mind, some of these items are nightmare material.
The only box I fit is that I am largely healthy. A few minor issues here and there but thankfully nothing major. Honestly, that's the only one I care about in the list you shared.
Where do I say "I check none of these"? Sobs in mid 50s single in rental apartment and < 1M net worth, commuting 30min. Blind is such a bubble!
Level ? Are you an engineer ?
Not between 32-37 seems to be your answer
