I am currently team matching and not sure which one to choose Dublin pros: - English language - PR in 2 years cons: - shit weather - crazy taxes (52% on stocks) - very high rents Munich pros: - Better city - less taxes (still high 43%) - EU visa (can move around europe without needing visa) cons: - German language - more time to get PR
Offer numbers and level?
L3, no numbers yet.. still team matching
Are you any good at foreign languages? If so, Munich! If not, Dublin and get a sun lamp.
in Ireland rn, take Munich anyday
why?
high taxes, not many high level services by government, healthcare is dodgy and waitlist is loooong, non existent public infrastructure outside Dublin ir Cork, mental rent in all 3-4 cities
You can get PR in Germany after 21 months if you can get B1 in German (have to have a Blue Card though…which isn’t hard either)
What role? SWE?
You don't get a PR in 2 years in Dublin, you just get a work visa for 2 years with no work permits (Stamp 4)
Munich nicer city, Dublin nicer people
Dublin weather is miserable....
Can’t add anything. Envying silently:) Munich is my dream city.
why munich specifically? my dream city is london but the headcount there is too low
I am biased. Mostly language wise. London is way too gloomy. Even though Germany doesn’t have the best weather either. (I am from CA, love the number of sunny days here)
