Have an E7 offer from Plaid for (270 base + 610K paper money). Currently E6 at Google making 615K. Is it worth taking a chance on Plaid? How's morale and IPO looking? Plaid is remote friendly and there's a lot of room for impact. But the paper money is sad. #plaid
How would you like to be a VP dude
I remember realizing that VPs at JP Morgan got paid $100K less than I do as a mid level SWE lul Y'all are getting fuuuuucked
Not really, VP title is just different in banking. You make VP as a mid level there.
What valuation are they offing ?
6B
I would treat the real valuation to be No more than 3-4B.
Not worth it
could you elaborate?
Paper money. Plus plaid is not a hot company anymore.
How long at G? Were you at Meta before? If so, what level there?
if the paper money is sad then why did you interview in the first place?
never hurts to work on your interview skills
agree. Did you interview any public companies? How's the outcome?
Ur ok with taking a 400k pay cut? Plaid paper money is worthless. Being acquired at 1/8th their valuation is the bull case. You should be wary of your RSUs expiring totally worthless
I have some money saved and was thinking whether it's worth taking a risk for a nice payout later
The time to join privately held fintech companies…. Is NOT now.
could you explain more?
Their valuations got crushed and path forward is unclear
RSU or ISO?
rsu
Not worth it. It’s low for E7 comp AND it’s funny money. Should be over $1M.
if its 1M, do you take it? I havent negotiated yet
No because Plaid doesn’t have much upside. Fintech is taking a beating. On top of that there are other public companies they will give $1M TC for E7. Just doesn’t seem worth the risk to me given it’s more likely your RSU’s depreciate rather than appreciate.
880k for one year? Take it
600 of that is paper money :( very high risk
Don't go for plaid. That paper money is worth half it's value.
