The price difference is about 6k. Wondering if it makes sense to spend the extra 6k for a 50 mile round trip commute with traffic. Also if battery trouble for hybrid = replacement cost not worth it? Why is hybrid perceived better even though the price difference is pretty significant?
Get a plug in hybrid for that kind of commute. I usually get 80+ mpg on a mazda cx90 with similar commute. Vs 20 mpg a gas car would do.
Only mostly for Toyota hybrids. If you get a hybrid like panamera gas savings not worth the 20k battery replacement cost.
Plus avoid the hassle of going to gas station every week, thats the biggest one no one counts

If you drive a hybrid, please try to avoid the fast lane. Hybrids are meant for a more relaxed driving style, just like my dad's car.
I like the flexibility of hybrid. It feels like the best compromise. It helps the environment, without being subject to the charger planning restrictions of pure EVs. I guess the compromise is complexity, as you have a power plant with more technologies and interfaces, thus more failure modes (the latter being offset by the resilience brought by diversification of the power source).
You get a cvt transmission, an extra engine, and usually an Atkinson cycle engine. A hybrid is always better than a non-hybrid for every metric.
You'll never make back the price difference so it's all about how you feel. Fact is, hybrid maintenance is more expensive. People see high voltage and don't want to touch it. Not an issue at first but you can see the maintenance costs climb on Edmunds
Not with Toyota hybrids. Prius is cost effective and 10 years warranty for battery nobody can match that
Hybrids require less maintenance than non-hybrids Brakes barely get used, gas engine is Atkinson cycle, transmission is cvt, additional motor takes stress off of gas drivetrain. Hybrids have been out for like 20 years and y’all are so stupid you still barely know anything about them.
Apart from gas savings, hybrid has better resale
