I'm interviewing with Datavant. I passed the first set of screening interviews and have my algorithm and system design in a few days. I'm excited so far. I have 30 years of experience and am looking to be able to do more and learn from people smarter than me. The company seems very young but with a lot of smart people which is cool. However, I am very concerned about the culture and work-life balance. On the surface, it sounds fantastic, but there are some red flags. For example, when I asked my prospective manager about this he said "well normally no (working too much) but the team has been doing this lately because of requirements and this is why we need someone like you to come on board to help bring the load back to normal." Also, there are conflicting reviews from people online. Pulling long hours before a release or during an outage is normal, what I want to know is whether or not there is an expectation of working long crazy hours over an extended period. I'm too old for that crap, I've already paid my dues. LOL. Another thing I want to avoid is "there is no expectation of extreme hours" but then everyone on the team does it anyway. I've heard this can be the case at AWS for example. Then you are the odd man (or woman) out and that is not great. You will feel pressured to conform or will get let go as a low performer. I recognize that this is really highly dependent on the specific team and manager. For reference, I believe I am looking at the anonymous side of the business. #tech #datavant #wlb #interview

Yeah curious about this as well! If someone is going for a TC cut I thought they’ve to at least get better WLB 😂
Is that Vivek Ramaswamy's company? They are known for difficult WLB.
This is a subsidiary under roivant.
