Joined a company under contract to hire and to be honest I’m not exactly sure how this projects being developed fully but I do know some of it is using low code which I haven’t used before. I think it’s out systems I mean to me I view it as a vastly different way to code but I guess it’s more high level? Just wondering, as I do enjoy coding and I need to know how long I should stay at this new company before I should leave as I value the pay increase I got but I don’t want to be pigenholed in my career. Also I know I should do a better job of knowing what I’ll be working on when applying but applying was starting to become frustrating with multi week interview processes and waiting just to hear back and be rejected.(Google was the worst with this) YOR 3.5 yrs TC Before: 78k TC now: 110k
Working on a MS Power App one time gave me cancer
I've not used a low code tool before. I would make the assumption a person working with one isn't actually a developer. Maybe they picked up some html/css to change the color on their WordPress at best they know some sql. I could be dead wrong, that's just my impression.
Postman flows (beta) has been pretty neat for some API stuff I’ve been making for fun.
Outsystems is pretty good. Know many people that swear by it and most detractors never used it.
Low code tools are very annoying and buggy to work with
Everybody “low code” in my group feels like a waste of space. They just create more problems for the technical people to solve. Please let 2023 be the year these “low code” tools limp away to die.
