Married to a USC. Spouse filed for adjustment of status. Received my EAD/Advanced Parole combo card. Interview scheduled soon. Joined Expedia Chicago 1.5 years ago as SDE-1 on H1-B visa. 5 YOE, TC- 93k + 12% (I know it's low) Should I re-negotiate my current compensation with my employer in the upcoming review cycle? Or, Should I switch on EAD(Advanced Parol card), or should I switch after getting GC? I guess it should not make a difference if I switch on EAD(Advanced Parol card) or after getting GC as mine is marriage based adjustment of status. Advice/Suggestions please.
Though itโs always recommended to have a valid underlying visa while filing adjustment of status, you can always switch in EAD. You can also switch and ask the new employer to file a H1b transfer while you are waiting for your green card interview.
Your TC is mostly a function of your abilities not your immigration status. Unless you are at Amazon and stuck with them on an L1.
