The head of recruitment at Meta is planning to reduce STE roles by 80% at the end of the annual contract. For those in that situation, don't work too hard expecting to be converted to a full-time role. Only 20% of roles will be extended for 1 more year. Then will hire new CWs after thatr and selection will be random, not based on your performance. #tech #meta #recruiting #layoffs
What's STE? Contact roles?
Short term employees
They have one year, but after that, they will be cut. And replaced with fresh CWs. They hired too many so they will cut 80%
That sounds horrible. Especially since a lot of the recruiters were boomerangs
I know, but they don’t care as they only needed them to hire fast and dispose of; Meta only cares about the stock price going up. Employees are numbers only. That’s why they never hire them back as FTs.
Source? Also what is the advantage of firing people at random? Seems like it unnecessarily kills morale?
I have always been the one who knows when the next layoffs at Meta will happen, and my predictions have always been accurate. People at Meta already know me for this.
What is the advantage of firing people at random tho?
I'm giving you a heads up about a decision that was made today and will impact many short-term employees at the end of the year. This morning, I received information that there will be significant changes in employment for short-term roles. The head of recruitment has approved me sharing this information here, so you have enough time to prepare and start interviewing for new opportunities. Please take this time to plan your next steps.
I will leave blind for now. I have a full day of meetings.
Are you that legendary person who provided info about layoffs before they occurred?
Yes
