Hi all, I recently tried importing all the tax forms from my Fidelity brokerage account into TurboxTax and realized that Fidelity did not report my short term cost basis for one of my accounts and was wondering if there was a way to update it when filing taxes using turbo tax? This is currently causing all the sales from from last year being counted towards capital gains :( When I pulled up the form 1099b on Fidelity’s website it said - Short term sales with cost basis not reported to IRS for all of the transactions TC : 309k #personalfinance #investments #taxes
Form 8949
If it’s for rsus it’s usually an adjusted basis, usually scroll all the way down on ur 1099 and it will be there
Scroll down to second to last page where you'll see the adjusted cost basis. My CPA didn't have the sense to do that and I ended up paying additional tax I didn't owe. Now he hasnt responded to my text lol fuck me
Just add it yourself. You can adjust
