If my mothers visa is expiring on 04 December 2024 Planned travel date is: 03 june 2024-18 November 2024 Can she come or might be refused entry by US port officer? Or should she first renew her passport before traveling to US?
Renew the passport and present both passports during entry
She will most likely be flagged at the check in counter of her country and denied boarding because she needs to have a minimum of 6 months passport validation beyond her travel dates. Renew her passport before travel.
India is excluded from official notice- https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2022-Mar/Six-Month%20Passport%20Validity%20Update%2020220316.pdf
Are you sure about above statement?
Why should she be refused having a valid passport? 6 months is a usual requirement when issuing a visa.
So travelling is fine? I am just taking precaution
I’m not a lawyer, but staying more than 6 months on visitor visa is already a violation, there is no reason to require passport to be valid beyond this period.
