Google hates Americans and is trying to skew the election
Hey All, I am currently working in U.S and currently am an SDE 2. How hard / easy it is to move to India and get a decent pay, and what would be easier an international transfer in a FAANG company, or finding a job in Indian companies like Swiggy, directi, Flipkart etc?
Both are doable in 3 years. It's better to first get job in MS, Google and Amazon in US then transfer to India. By that way you can keep your stocks and only your base salary will be adjusted.
About 3 years ? Make it 30 or never. Hundreds of such posts in blind.
It depends on your priorities, location etc for example, staying in the same company here for 2+ yrs and taking transfer to India is easy but you might not find FAANG job in Mumbai & might be in HYD, Bnglr or etc if are fine with that then taking transfer is easy otherwise you can keep transfer as second option and start looking for jobs in Flipkart etc companies in india where company has office in the location you want to settle in. Also, 3 yrs is a long time, good to do financial planning from now but about job, I would worry that when 1.5 or 1 yr is left for the move because that might be the closest time you will learn about current (at that time) working culture, you might be able to work for FAANG from your home as WFH might have been common in India 3 yrs down the line.
Oh man..these 3 years and 5 years guys. I've seen so many of them. Waste of time indulging them in their fantasy.
Please don't divert the conversation. Only comment if you have some advice to share. Also please try to respect others opinion
That's my advice. Dont indulge in fantasies years away.
when Amazon transfers so many from India to US, the other way round should also be easy ?
I think it's not bad to plan early. Some of my friends planned for years and made the move. I think it's ok to plan early. Good luck. Taking a job in US with India offices is the best bet if you ask me.
Thank you so much. I definitely feel that's a better option. So I am trying to plan and work accordingly
Post the same question in 3 years when you are actually ready to move
Moving back to home country is a big decision so planning is needed ahead of time. I know you might be thinking that he is not gonna move if he thinks in 3 yrs!! But learn to respect someone's decision & share the advice which they asked for or helpful to them!
You don’t need 3 years to plan for returning better to only post when op does. 3 year things change so much you won’t even know if there will be swiggy/a company(which op has in mind) by then
