Not really happy at Google anymore. Where would you go next?
Seen some recent negative data points for salesforce . check the below post https://www.teamblind.com/post/Salesforce-turning-out-to-be-shthole-for-me-jCKp1JMh https://www.teamblind.com/post/Job-change-strategy-DSsLohYE
Thanks
Prestige/respect are outdated concepts. The real thing is your immediate team and type of work you do. And most importantly TC. I will not hire a candidate from Amazon because it's Faang, infact barely 1/3 of the shortlisted profiles make it till the offer letter in my team. Similar, if I need a solid candidate for SRE I would prefer to go to an ex-linkedin first before someone from intuit or adobe.
If TC is most important then start-ups are the only option, any comments?
It's simple - Talent follows money. It's true for young talent. Older folks are drawn by money and wlb. If you are young I would advise against all MNCs except FNGL. Post marriage and kids move to any one in tier-1/2 but be very very watchful of the team and your managers. I can tell you with very high confidence that 50% of the teams in these great companies are not doing anything exciting, challenging or at scale.
Is Optum that bad :(( crying...
these all seem like companies
Yeah but still many are selling tech/software and some others are tech enabled Like Salesforce is selling tech not cosmetic or flight ticket. Actually lemme rephrase, would other companies gives some positive weightage to employees working in Salesforce (obviously no compromise on evaluation, but in general shortlisting, branding, etc, I am talking about here) any further comments?
