We live in different times, I sometimes think HR will screen me out because of this.
Be proud of your honorable service. Why would you want to work for a company that doesn't respect it? Fellow vet here.
I'd work for plenty of companies that have no respect for me. Most don't. We work for money not respect
What do you mean you can board a flight first but not get a job?
Active duty can board first. Not veterans. When I was active duty it was active duty -in uniform- can board first. 🥲
Some people definitely hold some negative views and stereotypes about those who served. Not realizing that it’s just a job for most people. But institutionally we still honor vets and companies dedicate resources to recruiting veterans, so keeping it is wise
Veterans are some of the best employees, you’ve served your country be proud of it.
Depends on where you served and what you did
Why do u want to remove it? What was the military service? Was it like some controversial war? Like in WW2 on German side or something
Very illegal to discriminate against vets. HR is your friend on this. Anything like a dishonorable discharge?
What industry and company? Generally yes you should include it and it gives you a leg up.
I've done hiring at 3 companies, military experience is always looked at favorably. I'm sorry for whatever experience you had that led you to ask this question.
I'm assuming you are American? I should have specified that I'm in Canada. We do not think so highly of ex-military/ serving here.
