Hey Yall, I am generally a very calm and nice person but in the past 3 years (since I started) I was unfortunate to have a very toxic skip manager (the VP). He is all over the place and no one wants to work with him but he has the power if you know what I mean. No one is questioning his behavior as well. All that happens is that people either get laid off, or they leave because of this guy's unprofessional behavior. Micromanagement is in a whole another galaxy. Like literally hitting his head to the wall for using dark Green color instead of light Green color on a table!!! So here is what I need to know. I am being tempted to send a hard professional email (making sure I use GPT to hide my anger but will ask GPT to make the email painful for the VP) and including the very top executives! Yes I am even including the CEO and folks below her down to the VP. I know the moment my email is sent, I will be fired just because I had the balls to send the email but I just want to bring to their attention what an a****** is working down here taking everyone hostage and creating a very hostile toxic environment. I was blessed to have an amazing manager but this guy (the VP) laid him off this week!! To handle us himself and I can clearly see where this goes in the next week or so. No one can work with him. Even the simplest discussion turns into a nightmare. He has no self control. I am not trying to sue or anything. I just want the top folks know there is an issue down there. And I know they may not give a damn, but imagine being that VP and seeing I have included everyone π₯Ά he will have a heart attack I guess. So my question is, what would you do? Again, I won't use any bad words or anything in the email. I will ensure it is beyond professional when sending. Financial wise I am safe for a long while so losing the job won't destroy my financial life. UPDATE - Email sent in the most professional way up to the highest level folks. Tomorrow it will explode. And for some of the friends who said you have to gather evidence, alias etc. I have so many available at my disposal. And this guy has gone to HR once or twice so this one might be the biggest hit for him. Will see... UPDATE 2 - I am hearing very promising things. Can't believe this. The VP started gathering evidence against me and my performance via email (he never done that) but it was too late because I already had sent the email π And damn he is emailing to gather records and God is clearly helping me because with every single email he sends, he is giving me unbelievable evidence against himself!!! He has no idea what is coming to him. I don't know how it ends, but I am the happiest person at the moment even if I am laid off right now (which is now impossible because of what is going on). I am genuinely grateful and happy... thank you for your support all ππΌ #oracle #vp #laid_off #toxic #VP #help #opinion #manager #poll #email #unprofessional #mental_health #tech #software
Don't.
Reason for not doing it?
Word can travel and puts you on the same footing as the VP, you're really no better than him as soon as you hit send
Do it. Stick it to these money and power hungry losers that are in tech for the wrong reasons
Yeah man, I know they won't give a shit, but all I can do is to do my part so in the future, this guy might think twice before destroying everyone's mental health.
Just do it!
Do it OP. Save us!
Save us!
Did it guys... tomorrow morning will be the show time π
Do it, which Vp? DM me
@oracle - dont waste your email. The big bosses probably already know how bad he is. There's a reason they are keeping him around: either he's f*cking the boss or helping them in other ways you couldnt fathom. The minions are sheeples and wont follow you. This wont save them. It will only get you fired and you'll be labeled as the bad apple
Thatβs right. I am sure you are not the first one who sends email to CEO to reveal a bad leader. It happens every other day in such a big company. You will be disappointed with the outcomes.
It happens more often than you know and in ways that are more discreet. And I am able to live to tell the tale, unlike what will happen to OP (if he does what he is proposing)
While it may feel that you are right, often you are, but in such professional settings such kind of anger is common and nothing to do that VP. People hired them for their asshole aspects. Align or move on. Nothing good comes from sending the email.
Thanks for the advice ππΌ
Looks like you are just taking revenge on this VP for your boss who was amazing being laid off. The main question is - is the VP achieving his targets? Are their bosses happy with them? If yes then nothing else matters. Your email will achieve nothing. It will be seen as a disgruntled employee venting out.
No that is wrong. Also the second question is also no, he is not delivering what is promised because he told my boss that he is being let go because we are not delivering what we were supposed to so we are behind. Maybe the VP boss is happy w him I don't know. Never interacted w that person.
Its the work environment that's causing this. The VP is also apparently in pressure and being let go from his bosses because he has nothing to show for it, and he is pushing the blame down to his teams. I dont think the VP themselves has control over this situation.
they already know
Yeah I won't be surprised...
This is a very dumb thing to do, for zero upside. Care less, move teams or find another job.
In the process of interview with 2 companies already. Will see if I get any offer.
Oh and by the way, the email MAY, it just MAY help the team under him to be relieved. Over 300 people working under the guy...
