It depends on company/team culture. I can take a month off at one time and it’s fine. We plan for it. I’ve taken 6 consecutive weeks off and it was fine.

Yes, but some employees are fully remote. You can request to be fully remote if you’re P40 and higher. If you’re near a site there is a request to come in on the 1 or 2 days your org designates. But, in most orgs this is still a suggestion. For example, my org has 1 day they want people near the office to come in. They have a 2nd suggested day to try to get more people in together and make it useful since it usually doesn’t make sense to go in when no one else on your team is there. No one in my org is policing it. I’m sure they’re tracking numbers because they have to.

3-4 weeks was doable depending on the season(easier around holidays). I aimed for at least 25 days per year PTO.

at samsara (unlimited PTO) you need VP approval to take off more than 2 weeks in a row
