hello. I have been invited to join an asset share. this is where a group of adults agree to pool all financial assets as a collective with each receiving a fixed long term stipend. i make good total comp but also would like to take time off. under this model my income accrues as shares againt overall assets that i can exchange for long term time off with guaranteed income. for anyone that has done this what are the pros and cons. thanks.
Wtf sounds like a terrible idea. Who is managing the pooled resources?
A third party advisory and fiduciary
Is the distribution proportional to the contributions? If so, what's the advantage over investing individually?
Effectively freedom. The larger asset pool opens alternate investments for the group. Share distribution does vary based on investment tranch, contributions and exercise of benefits. Fixed payout occurs nearly immediately but can be tapered by the individual.
Alternative investment?
This sounds like a cult.
Buy real estate that’s in a cheap state - location
This sounds like a mechanism for someone to charge a bunch of fees to high income people.
And pool ALL financial assets???? That sounds nuts....
Bye bye $
You’re being short sighted. Allow me to explain. This is invite only. It’s a curated group. The freedom allows us to explore our creativity. If one of us pursues an idea worth hundreds of millions we all benefit. Like a communal VC. Don’t hate please. Expand your mind friend.
What if one of you sits on their ass for the rest of their lives?
Good luck, you’re going to need it!
Sounds like Amway
I'd do it. Just keep us posted.
