there's cronyism, favoritism, and probably preferential treatment going on in my organization. my opinion doesn't really count and at the end of the day, I end up changing my vote in support of what I am totally against because if I do not, the powerful majority will still have the votes. I have disagreed with a lot of people in my group to the extent that I had to keep mute most times to just let things go so I won't become more notorious for my disagreement and always finding cons in every decision. This position is unpaid, but i give my all into it without any care for compensation or anything. but tonight’s event really made me want to hatch a new plan going forward till my term expires in office and/or resign and rerun for election again next year. i really like to be a part of this group, but a lot of things are going on that i don't agree with and i don't want to always vote for a decision i don't support. i am confused. any suggestions?
what do you do at IEEE?
Security. But the organization in question isn't IEEE
I don’t really get it. Is this a joke about you being a congressman or something?
She sounds like Susan Collins
No, it's about an organization that i am part of.
I’m not sure I understand. They’re not paying you. What’s the consequence for speaking up? Just personally, I have yet to be in an organization that I would consider just being part of it to be compensation. You can always try to start your own group for likeminded individuals.
Sounds like you work with humans. Maybe switch and try to work with robots?
This is every company, get over it
