I’ve seen a few people on blind and elsewhere say that OpenAI is the latest fidget spinner and will die out shortly. Thoughts? #tech #openai
Gen AI is here to stay, with or without Open AI.
Look at the open source ones, I don’t think openai has a unique product, it’s a commodity.
What are the open source ones?
The effort of OpenAI to prevent OpenSource AI tells you everything about how confident they are about their tech.
What is OpenAI doing?
Yeah curious about this as well
LLMs are just getting started. OpenAI is just a cog in the wheel.
LLM are here for the long term, we aren’t at the peak of the cycle yet. This is a truly transformative technology unlike recent hype cycles like Blockchain. For development even working with a good LLM and limited tokens can be eye opening for how fast you can build.
Yea … I’m sooo done and tired of hearing about that stuff …. It’s like the only thing the world has talked about for the last 3 months…
Llm will be a feature in all software. It's not world changing, it's not general intelligence and for the most part it's extremely over hyped. openAI is like dropbox, soon to be relegated as a feature company
Lol feature company. Never saw it like that.
LLMs will be around for awhile, for me as a developer at least. Whoever provides the best DX wins, whether that’s OpenAI or someone else.
What does DX stand for?
Developer experience.
