At Amazon, can I transfer internationally a few months after joining if I’m an L6
I’m an MBA student and I got an inclined offer for a full time role as an L6 PM. Now, IDK if it will materialize, but if so, I’d like to change teams and transfer from the US (I am an American citizen) to a team in Germany or Japan or Australia, 4-5 months after joining. As an L6, there isn’t a 1 year tenure requirement before transferring internationally right? Also, do I just stay on my old team while my visa gets processed for 2-3 months, if I were able to switch to a team outside the US?
1 year requirement applies to L6 roles as well. However they can make exceptions with VPs approvals but they are hard to get for newbies.
Got it, thanks! I heard you can also transfer before a year of you have work authorisation in the country? Does it have to be permanent? I can get a working holiday visa for Australia, but that only allows me to work there for up to 6 month
