My 401k is through Fidelity and I’m in my late 20s, how should I chose what to invest in? Should I choose only FXAIX? Any insights would be appreciated. #investments
Fidelity also has an investment planning tool on their website.
Yes stocks only. No bonds
I do only FXAIX. Different 401ks have different funds but FXAIX is a good bet with any 401k.
Is that the same as the S&P 500 Index? I can't find it at my 401k fidelity account. I wonder if they renamed it
Fidelity has 2 S&P 500 indexes. That is one. They also have a 0% commission one that doesn’t explicitly say S&P 500 in the description because they have to pay to say that. I don’t know the name of that index fund though.
Fxaix is good as it replicates 80% of S&P 500 index which is good enough and low expense ratio … it’s only good when you close to retirement go with bond till then Fxaix all the way
FXAIX is the S&P 500 index. It should replicate 100% of what the S&P does. It’s 100% stocks. It’s 80% of my position.
Cash. 4% right now. Too early to go all in on stocks right now. https://www.fidelity.com/mutual-funds/fidelity-funds/money-market-funds-fcash
Now is the time to get into stocks .. market is 30% down go to indexing
