So I am in my first week at my new company (think SAP size) as an AE. In my first meeting with my manager I asked him whether I could spend 3 weeks going through the company training remotely in Europe to be with my partner there as we’re doing long distance. He ultimately advised against it since the hours would be tough and the boot camp would require my full attention. Fair enough, and I agreed and made it clear to him that I understood if he said no since it’s my first week. But do you think I made a bad impression by bringing this up in my first week and that maybe it shows I don’t take the job seriously? It’s not like I asked for PTO, I just asked to work remotely for a few weeks, which the company already allows within America at least, and we won’t be back to office until 2022 anyways. You asked he suggested otherwise. You are fine. What’s AE?
Account Executive. Like Sales Director at Medallia
Not at all, it’s a totally valid request, specially after a year of pandemic
Appreciate it!
I think that’s a reasonable request. I wouldn’t worry about it
Thanks!
