The guy is CEO of OpenAI and lauded as some kind of tech visionary. But when I look at his Wikipedia profile it really seems like he was just blessed because Paul Graham liked him. I mean Loopt (thanks PG!) was nothing extraordinary. Then he failed upwards to become YC president (thanks again PG!). Worldcoin failed. They list his investments as if he is so insightful. If a monkey was president of YC at that time I'm sure their portfolio would look pretty good too 🤷🏽♂️ Seems like he looked and talked a certain way and that dazzled PG and then his whole career was based on that. Trying not to be a hater but I just don't get what the fuss is about. Prove me wrong 🤞🏽
Exact same impression I got
Yeah, the guy definitely feels off to me. Something about him isn't right.
Agreed.
Oh to be able to speak with the confidence of a young, white, male who dropped out of Stanford. As if dropping out is harder than graduating. Shame other demographics have to have MIT PhDs and grind for 20 years to be anywhere close to his career 🥹
U sound salty
Yep I'm totally hating I mean I understand, I would do the same thing if I could. But nobody threw money at me repeatedly in the same way when I had nothing to show for it I'm just trying to work out what's the secret
You said it. sama impressed pg and jl and they basically adopted him. Sometimes all you need in life is to know and impress a billionaire to succeed.
Also puzzled by their CTO Mira Murati. She’s got a B.Eng from Dartmouth and somehow went from a basic engineering job at a small/local company to SPM at Tesla. When she speaks about the product, it’s like she’s a spokesperson rather than a true CTO.
Lol his name reminds me of Sam Bankman-Fried
Worldcoin hasn't failed yet. They haven't even really launched yet.
OpenAI is the talk of the day and he is the CEO of OpenAI
