Taking a 2 year contract for a PM role at Meta. Wondering how their conversion rate is for contract of full-time. Have you converted and what was the process? Or know anyone that has? How easy or difficult was it?
I use to contract at Meta in the data area and from my experience, conversion is really low and not even encouraged. I wouldn’t count on getting converted just because you contracted there, but I recommend building relationships with FTE so you can use them as a referral in the future when you apply to FTE jobs I worked with around 10 other contractors in data eng/analyst and only 1 person ever got converted. The rest of them either got fired or change jobs within 2 years.
I know a handful of converts, 3 DE/DS and 1 PM. I think they had to wait until their contract was up to convert but then went through a normal interview loop. AFAIK the bar is the same level as regular hires but after working there a while you should know how things are done and do ok in the interview. I don't know anyone who's contract expired and didn't convert but there's obviously some confirmation bias there
I think this depends on your manager and clearly communicating your goals
Did you have to go through the same interview process again? i have a current contract for 6 months and my manager wants to convert me to FTE but there is no headcount.
Assuming Meta will keep hiring PMs and assuming you’re a strong performer I don’t see any reason they wouldn’t try to get you committed full-time
