1. Tell me your story! Do you plan on staying there longer or would you move back in your 30s/40s for the chill family life? 2. Any opinions or tips? I am dreaming of the TC and international lifestyle in the states. Loving Berlin, but am eyeing NYC which is more intense in most aspects of life I guess. Plan is to change to big tech after 1-2 years in Berlin/London and then move to the US? Realistic? Or should I try earlier? Dev experience is limited currently and will start leetcoding after graduation. Graduating with my B.Sc. this year and will get a return offer at SAP. Thankfully working with widely uses tech rn! -> modern React, TypeScript, NodeJs, GraphQL TC: 16€/h as a student 🥜🥜 and probably 55-65k as a grad #tech #career #engineering #us #visa #relocation #germany
Dutch, not German, but close enough I suppose. Moved to the us right after university, keeping the option open to retire in the Netherlands eventually
Damn, thats cool! Heard its super hard since entry level is already saturated with grads and bootcampers.. Also think that companies would prefer people who already have working permit. When was that? on a h1b visa? Was it some special role or with connections? Standard leetcode interview?
Long time ago .. lc had not yet been invented. Or bootcamps for that matter so there was a lot of demand and low bar for entry
Wen du jetzt einen job in usa kriegen kannst dan machs sofort. Macht kein sinn 1-2 jahre zu warten
I’m not German but this is possible for 2). Just keep studying and applying. It’s easiest if you can get a referral from someone senior within the company you are a applying for. Can’t speak for 1).
