Hey folks, I have a few stocks from my previous employer in an employee stock account with Fidelity that I haven't touched for more than a year now. Should I care to transfer the assets, or can I just leave it since I'm not being charged as of now and I have no plans to sell them? My current employee stock account is with Schwab. Neither of these accounts allow trading other stocks. What do you folks generally do with your previous employee stock accounts? TC: 130 GBP YOE: ~6 #investments #fidelity #schwab #stock
Is your personal account ? (Check if the account is associated with your personal e-mail)
Yes, the primary e-mail as of now is my personal one but there's employer logo when I log in to netbenefits.
You can leave it at Fidelity. I actually like Fidelity and am in the process of consolidating my various investments there. I’m surprised that the account doesn’t allow other trades. You should call Fidelity and talk to them about what they can provide. They are very nice and will walk through it better than a bunch of randos here.
I think the account not allowing other transactions is a result of the type of account I selected while opening, I actually don't remember.
Definitely talk to Fidelity. They can help with all of that.
I prefer transferring to my personal investment account so I don’t have to keep track of a bunch of different accounts. But doesn’t matter if you want to keep them in Fidelity.
Felt the same.
I just always sell company stock on vest so I don’t leave with any
I just left it there. Nothing to worry about
