I’ve been interested in applying to Google for the past months now. I know it’s very competitive and I was hoping someone could share any resources that outline what it takes to be part of the Google family. I’m particularly interested in how to better equip myself for an interview with Google. I’ve been working with SAP as a DevOps Engineer for the past 32 months now and I’m exploring potential opportunities. Your help is truly appreciated. #lifeaftercovid #dreams
1. Its not very competitive. 2. They check you against a bar. You just have to meet the bar. 3. As far as I know, SRE has the same process as SWE. That means focus on algos. Design rounds also if you're targeting L5. They test your algorithmic skills and behavior (googlyness). Googlyness - General behavioural questions. Challenges, Interests, Hobbies,Conflict handling. Additionally some scenarios may be asked. For e.g. how would you plan a team outing for your team You can read upon interview experiences on leetcode as well.
Why do you say that it’s not competitive ?
What you know matters. Your getting in or not depends mainly on you and not on other candidates. The only competitive part of google process was team matching - manager sees multiple candidates and you see multiple managers
