Have an interview with Uline for Software Engineer - experiences?

Hello, I have an interview with Uline scheduled next week. Was wondering if anyone would like to share their experience with them. How's the work culture? Pay? Growth? Stability? Not a remote position. Sorry for not making this clear, I quit SAP a year and half ago to pursue my master's. Just graduated.

Do they have remote positions ?

SAP iykyk21+ OP Sep 22, 2023

As far as reviews on Google and Glassdoor, there is a very restrictive policy in place for WFH. Someone from Uline would be better equipped to answer that.

I have zero knowledge first hand, but moving from a company like Sap to Uline seems like quite a switch. They are umā€¦ infamous

Oh I dont work at SAP anymore. Updated the post, apologies for not making that clearer. Wondering, what are they infamously known for?

Going from stuff that literally affects peopleā€™s paycheck to office supplies the job should be more relaxed. And it would surprise me if it was the opposite.

Not so much the industry as it is the way they run the place

The owners are very Conservative. Make sure you fit a demographic they approve of.

No remote positions, part of the ā€œcompany culture.ā€ Weā€™ve lost a lot of good IT talent since Covid due to the number of people leaving for hybrid/remote positions. Ironically, we fill these gaps with remote contractors from places like Accenture. If you like a professional, in person environment, youā€™ll like the office. Good food options and gyms, trainers etc in-house. Pay is hard to say, hold out for what youā€™re worth. I do think the advancement opportunities are pretty good and plentiful. Job security is high, only seriously low performers have to worry. When you come in to interview, wear a tie. Know basic stuff - company started 1980, first item h-101 carton sizer, operating in US/MX/CAN, wholesaler not manufacturer, hyper focused on the customer (who are mostly businesses) easy to use website, proud of the catalog etc. Best of luck, let me know if you have any other questions!
