Will Trump kill the H-1B program?
I started work in 2019 and feel like I’ve been getting screwed ever since. I’m lucky I beat the 2020 tough time finding a job period but inflation and housing costs feel unbelievable. Student loans sap my money. The people on Blind with 10+ yoe, some of them rode solid economy recovery, mooning tech stocks or crypto, or mooning housing market to have big NW, and I sometimes feel like I’m missing out on all these opportunities that might not be available again, or with inflation I may not be able to afford them. TC $200k (recent), NW $0
Yeah but think of all the time periods and timelines that have been worse, you could've been drafted in WW2 or Vietnam or been born in some hut to a poor family.
That’s a good perspective
$500k NW at 4 YoE, ready to buy a $2 mil house when pooling resources together with my GF.
Well I feel like shit. Teach me your ways
My investments are basically flat over the last 4 years now since the market dipped, so can't give you any advice there. What I did was cut expenses as much as possible. Was making $210k in NYC before I changed jobs a couple months ago (and I had a ~10% raise every year), yet I still managed to stash away $100k+ annually.
You need to cut expenses if you aren’t saving money at $200k. Also google read i will teach you to be rich by ramit seti. Start automated investing.
As long as the Fed exists, some bubble will be inflating. It’s just a matter of finding the asset class, you’ll get your chance.
You think crypto or stocks will never boom again? Everyone thinks that during an imminent recession lol. The light will arrive soon.
Learn to save, learn to cut out most expenses, learn to invest no matter how small you afford, building yourself involves a lot of sacrifice to make, at my 3yoe I already own a car and a house and still cutting off most expenses and, avoiding an expensive lifestyle till I’m fully made, my NW is in 8figures, most importantly learn to invest so it’ll yield out a supplementary income no matter how little, there are few trends i benefits from I can recommend.
How are you cutting expenses ?
If you think that way there would have never been a situation in the past where people got rich or people moved upwards socially or financially
The situation is that much statistically it’s much more difficult now
It always seems that way in hind sight
