Most accounts (401k, IRA, HSA etc) require SSN to add them as beneficiary or if optional, require SSN when the time comes for the transfer to the beneficiary (That's what I was told by Optum and Fidelity). So, how do I ensure that my money goes to the beneficiaries I assigned (and will never have SSN, as they will never come to the US) during any unfortunate event? #personalfinance #investments #401k #ira #hsa
Thanks for this. I'll check it out.
Make a living trust and move all your assets under it. Then write a “will” to nominate the distribution of your assets once you die. This is the safest way to be ensured about your inheritance being distributed to the right people without circling the “probate court”.
Thanks. I will try getting a will.
Use my SSN...and my name
