I am an engineer with 4 yoe based in romania. I have brands like amazon, SAP and Cisco on my resume. For a while I've been thinking on finding a remote position at a company based in us. Since the cost of living in Romania is dirt cheap, even the lowest paid positions in US would mean double that the average salary of an experienced engineer here. Where can I find startups hiring remote engineers? How can I convince them to hire me (is it enough to rock the interview?)?
I had offers from US startups. They either pay you as a contractor or if you are really important they can employ though other companies like letsdeel
Where are you based?
Germany
Another reason we’re all being ushered back into the office soon haha
You can’t work from another country while employed on US payroll. That’s the law
What if I become a freelancer and charge per hour
Most (almost all) big tech companies won’t employ you that way.
