I’m a minimalist. Never spent a penny unless really required. Spending time with my cousins over the last few weeks made me realize enjoying life is equally as important as thinking about future goals. His dad is a director of a big financial company and they don’t even see the price tag before spending. That makes me wonder what % of your income do you typically save? I used to save around 95%(staying with parents). #tech #India
I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living or get busy dying. — Andy Dufresne
OP, what's your NW and age?
I set aside some with 401K and any equity grants but otherwise I enjoy life. Travel, go on adventures, buy nice things etc.
simple question Is your dad a director? Pretty sure your kid will enjoy like your cousin someone has to Sacrifice the life, so they can uplift their family

For those kids it's not even "enjoying". It's their way of life. Dopamine adaptation kicks in. Wants become needs.
Bharat ki sacchai hai. kitni bhi mara lo. ameer pappa nahi hai to marate hi rahoge. Oopar se societal hierarchy bhi hai. Best hai ki US aao. idhar koi societal hierarchy nahi hai. thora bhi kamaoge. theek thaak jee loge jindagi.
Do fun stuff when you are young. Nothing feels better than going to an awesome spot in the world and hiking to a nice view. Spending friday evening with a pretty girl and doing the chase. Once you get older and get married, then slow down the expenses.
You are doing good. Don't compare yourself with others.
