Folks on H1-B visa, how does the GC processing timeline look like at Expedia Group for a new hire (SDE II)? How long does it usually take to file PERM to getting the I-140? I have a verbal offer from them and want to understand how streamlined and timely the GC processing is! Also can you please advise if there is any room for improvement regarding the TC offered by Expedia? I personally feel the recruiter is low balling me! Verbal offer from Expedia for SDE II, Seattle WA: Base: 135K Stocks: 17.5K Sign On: 13.5K Relo: 12k YOE: 4 TC: 🥜 #tech #expediagroup #h1b #gcprocessing
You might want to clarify bonus (is it actually signon?) as company no longer gives cash bonuses. We have RSU refreshers, but they are not guaranteed.
My bad, it’s actually sign on! Do you think this is a decent offer or am I being low balled?
I'm not an SDE so i dont know enough to accurately respond. For that level it looks OK, but you'd be better off asking someone who's in or manages those roles....
It’s actually a full two year cycle .. and perm gets audit then it takes 2.5 years.. so take that time line in mind.. if your manager is fast and get this job finalization and recruitment and labor tests fast (by interviewing other people fast) then you can get done in 1.5 years or 1.8 years but lower than that wouldn’t be possible. The most time is taken in job description and labor testing. That’s the time consuming part.
how long did it take for you to get a verbal offer?
A day! Gave interviews on Friday and got the offer on Tuesday.
Stocks 25k, sign on 25k
Is your stock for 4 years in RSU and what level are you at?
Yes, its for 4 years and this is for Level K.
Welcome to expedia group . GC timeline is 1.5 to 2 years. You could initiate from Day 1( your manager needs to submit a request for you to start the process). Good luck 👍
Thank you 😊
Any GC processing to reach the initial state of i140 would take around 30 months
It can be faster even from scratch. 6 month pwd with concurrent recruitment, 6 nonth perm.
