For my friends who work at Linkedin, how often does stack ranking result in salary reduction and pip? Joined the company supporting biz ops and realized how big of a shit hole i got myself into. Manager had indicated a possible paycut but not sure if he bluffing…
That’s sad to hear. I remember when LinkedIn had a great reputation for work life balance and high pay.
Seriously! It was the absolute best! Everyone was so warm and kind to each other, then the stack ranking started & the culture totally changed. I still don’t think it’s a bad job, but since it started at such a high standard, the relative fall was just a lot more.
Pay cuts should not be possible for FTE. You might be in bigger trouble than you think unfortunately. Stack rant was not existent before COVID but I now heard that performance management became more rigid in recent years
Not sure what biz ops support is, but I have never heard of salary reduction for devs due to stack ranking at Li. (Am at Linkedin just on my MS blind account)
Salary reduction isn’t a thing at any company period they’d just terminate the employee.
Unless you are a contractor, they cannot cut your base salary. If your rating is below expectations, it can impact your annual bonus, however.
No forced pips this year from what i am being told, and less pressure on ratings Not like before but not crazy like last year
I thought this shit happens only in Amazon
Amazon isn’t even the pioneer of stack rank nor was it the first tech company to use it.
